About Seirrah Therapies

Based in our fully equipped Sensory Integration (SI) Clinic in South Wales, Seirrah Therapies is an independent provider of Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Sensory Integration and Educational Therapy services. Seirrah Therapies supports individuals aged 0-25 years of age with developmental challenges in their speech, language, movement, play, learning and behaviour. We support individuals with and without a diagnosis.

As part of our wider services, we also work throughout the UK in homes, schools, colleges, workplaces, and community settings to provide specialist assessment, therapy, advice, consultancy, and training. We also provide teletherapy services remotely thus reducing the necessity for travel. 

Each individual we assess, and support receive a tailored, client led holistic approach according to needs, with intervention programmes being fun, engaging, and purposeful. Our team enable each individual and family to overcome difficulties they are experiencing by increasing their motivation, providing support and adopting a “no limits” approach. 

Our Clinic

Our Cardiff clinic is located on Cowbridge Road West and can be easily accessed off, the A48, A4232 and M4. Our clinic is based on the first floor of a brand new building named “Homes House” and shares the same site as Lidl, Home Bargains and Dominoes. We have excellent transport connections and are accessible on major bus routes from around the city.

Our clinic is modern and has ample free parking with enabled access and amenities for those with physical disabilities.

Our Cardiff clinic is fresh, colourful and inviting for all individuals and offers a space for children to enjoy and play in whilst allowing our professionals to assess, interact and provide intervention.

We currently provide assessments, individual therapy, group therapy including LEGO® -Based Therapy, training and intensive OT therapy blocks at our clinic in Cardiff.

Meet the Team

Seirrah Therapies consists of qualified Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Specialist Teachers at different levels of their careers, Assistant Practitioners, Clinic Manager, Business Manager, and administrative support. Each of the members of our clinical team focus on specific areas of need and have expertise as well as a passion in providing a range of assessments, support, advice, and interventions in order to meet those needs. Our family orientated team work closely together to create a friendly, supporting, and caring network passionate for inter-disciplinary working with well-grounded values and concepts.

All our clinical team members are qualified in their skill areas and registered with the relevant professional bodies. We believe in supporting our team members to reach their full potential within their career, which includes, supporting them to maintain and update their clinical skills by attending relevant courses, and producing an excellent standard of continuing professional development (CPD). Additionally, as a company, we offer in house training to all of our team members to share knowledge and improve skills through peer supervision. 

We ensure all team members are up to date with mandatory training and familiarised with local policies and national guidelines. Seirrah Therapies adhere to the ‘Safer Recruitment’ process; all staff members have an enhanced DBS with clearance to work with children and vulnerable people. Seirrah Therapies are covered by professional indemnity insurance and are registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).

Mark

Mark

Founder of Seirrah Therapies and Business Manager

Mark is the key person behind the scenes managing the overall business operations of Seirrah Therapies including: marketing, account management, and general day to day running. He is also responsible for overseeing our clinical team. Mark implements all our strategic marketing activities including social media platforms and builds upon our professional company brand. Mark’s experience of working within large organisations in the public and health sector provides him with the knowledge to introduce systems and processes designed to enhance quality and efficiency enabling a rapid robust growth. Mark is at the forefront of Seirrah Therapies and is one of the key individuals our clients will liaise with on a regular basis.

Joanne

Joanne

Clinic Manager

Joanne is a friendly, positive, and outgoing Highly Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist & Sensory Integration Practitioner, with a real passion and drive for supporting children, young people and their families with everyday activities and challenges. Joanne Works in a professional manner at all times and it is her aim to make a difference to the lives of the individuals and families she supports. 

Joanne has previously supported and help to set up Occupational Therapy services to; a children’s therapy company, secure setting for adults with complex needs, and specialist schools for Autism. Joanne’s experience of various diagnoses and working within teams of professionals also extends to complex behavioural difficulties. 

Joanne has extensive experience of assessment and report writing, with a particular interest in assisting individuals, families, and Solicitors with SEN Tribunals. Joanne is available to provide assessment, consultancy and training to families, schools, Solicitors and parent support groups, remotely, in the South Wales clinic, across the UK and Internationally.

Ceri

Ceri

Assistant Practitioner & Student Occupational Therapist

Ceri is a fun, playful and enthusiastic individual with a Degree in Early Childhood studies. Throughout Ceri’s education and experience she has recognised the importance of helping children in their development; she particularly enjoys helping those who need support in their day to day lives. Ceri has a vast amount of hands on experience and has spent time in a children’s hospital, shadowing a Play Specialist. During Ceri’s final year at University she worked closely for nine months with children who have a diagnosis of Autism, in a Special Educational Needs School linked with a Mainstream School. Whilst there, Ceri carried out a case study to ‘Explore the communication strategies used to enhance the voice of non-verbal children with autism’. 

Ceri provides assessment and intervention to children with a range of diagnoses including Autism, Fragile X Syndrome, PDA, Dyspraxia, ADHD and Dyslexia. Ceri uses her knowledge of child development to assist children with their physical, play, functional, speech and language needs to access everyday occupations at home, in the community and within education. Furthermore, Ceri works directly with, and is assistant to, our Highly Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist, supporting with specialist Sensory Integration assessments, therapy, and training. 

Chris

Chris

Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Chris is a highly specialist speech and language therapist who has worked across England and Wales for the NHS and Local Authority. Chris has extensive experience in collaborating with other professionals as well as working independently. He provides tailored support for children and young adults who have a range of communication difficulties which include speech production, understanding language, developmental play, expressing themselves, and attention and listening to name a few.

Chris has a specialism in supporting children with behaviour and social needs with underlying communication difficulties.

Chris offers a range of assessments, therapy interventions, advice and support specific to a child’s needs and requirements at our clinic in South Wales and in the home setting. His sessions are fun, relaxed and tailor made to fulfil everyone’s needs.

Kathryn

Kathryn

Specialist Teacher

Kathryn is an approachable, caring, and enthusiastic professional with extensive teaching experience, including in mainstream, behaviour, and specialist settings. Kathryn specialises in assessing, working with, and supporting individuals with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Kathryn has experience in working with a range of additional learning needs, speech and language delay, cerebral palsy, dyslexia, global delay, and ADHD. Kathryn is a passionate professional who promotes individual’s academic achievements whilst adopting a holistic approach.

Kathryn currently provides assessment, reports, consultancy and therapeutic intervention for families, schools, and local authorities across South and West Wales. She can provide reports for baseline assessments, curriculum planning, contribution to Statement of Special Educational Needs and SENDIST.
